Diego has wide-ranging experience over twenty-five years working in conflict and post conflict settings as well as in high insecure environments mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Americas and Asia with different organizations such as with Médecins Sans Frontières, United Nations, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Oxfam from transitional, conflict and post-conflict contexts focus on humanitarian assistance and development, governance and political processes (electoral assistance). He has an extensive expertise in project cycle management, organizational planning, training, monitoring and evaluation, as well as in context analysis and security, and risk management. He has strong advocacy and negotiation skills and a long-standing familiarity with increasingly complex humanitarian issues crucial to successfully achieve the. appropriate interventions, rapid response strategies and recommendations. Tutor and invited lecturer of the Center for International Humanitarian Cooperation (CIHC)-Fordham University, he also is invited lecturer in the NOHA Master of University of Deusto, and collaborates in other courses, seminars and publications with Institute of Studies on Conflicts and Humanitarian Action and the University of Girona (Spain). He holds a postgraduate degree in “Conflict Resolution and Management Crisis”, and a B.A. in “Geography and History” and “Political Science” (International Relations).
