Asier Martínez de Bringas holds a BA in Law and a PhD in Law from the University of Deusto. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Deusto, where he teaches at the Bilbao campus.Asier Martínez de Bringas teaches BA courses on Law. Specifically, he teaches Constitutional Organisation of the State, Theory of the State and Constitutional Framework, and System of Sources and Constitutional Rights.His publications mainly focus on Human Rights, Legal Pluralism, Multiculturalism and Interculturalism, the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Globalisation, and Postcolonial Studies. During the last few years he has been working at the University of Barcelona (2006-2008) and the University of Girona (2008-2010).Asier Martínez de Bringas is part of the research team on New social demands and practical rules for harmonization for religious diversity in public spaces at the local and regional levels, 2011-2014, which has been recognized by the Basque Government. Asier Martínez de Bringas is also part of the Consolider Ingenio 2010 “El tiempo de los derechos” (HURI-AGE) recognised inter-university team.Other research interests include Legal and religious pluralism, Chamanism, and Indigenous peoples.
