Naroa holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Deusto (2005) and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona (2009). Her doctoral thesis, which was completed in the Psychiatry and Clinical Psychobiology Department at the University of Barcelona, examined limbic cerebral changes and their implication in emotional, olfactory and memory dysfunctions found in Parkinson's patients through magnetic resonance imaging. During her pre-doctoral studies in 2007, she spent a research stay at Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB, University of Oxford, UK). After receiving her PhD diploma in 2010, she was awarded the Luis Barraquer i Bordas 2010 distinction for best thesis. She later continued her specialism as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Neurology, Hospital Clinic, Centre for Networked Research on Neurodegenerative Diseases (CIBERNED). She is currently researching neuroimaging and neuropsychology associated to Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. She is principal investigator of several projects on the Neuropsychology of severe medical disorders team at the University of Deusto. She is also Professor in the Department of Psychology of the Health Sciences Faculty and teaches on the BA in Psychology and the PhD programme at the University of Deusto. She is director of the Master's in Clinical Neuropsychology.
