Deusto Arrupe Grants

At the University of Deusto, we believe in talent, hard work, and dedication. Supporting talent triggers a chain reaction that benefits individuals, their families, communities and society.

For this reason, the University of Deusto has launched the Deusto Arrupe Grants, to contribute to the development of a society where the academic institution is deeply rooted. To create opportunities. To ensure that talent isn’t lost due to a lack of financial resources. To recognise that a future for young people means a future for the entire community. And to stay true to our values and our commitment to society.

Grant allocation

The commitment made by the University of Deusto involves offering 25 grants each year, which, together with public administration grants, can cover 100% of tuition fees for young people with outstanding academic records and limited financial resources. These grants will be announced for each academic year.

Requirements for new admission and re-enrolment

New students:

  • Academic requirements
    • Be enrolled in an undergraduate programme at the University of Deusto.
    • Achieve an average grade of 7 or higher in the first year of baccalaureate studies, vocational training, and/or equivalent qualifications.
  • Financial requirements
    • Your household income must not be higher than the minimum wage if you are a single person or if the household consists of only one parent and the applicant. In the case of family units with 3 or more members, the income obtained by the family unit may not exceed 5,500 euros per person per year.
    • Submit your application for the grant through the official general calls from the Basque Government or the Ministry of Education.
    • If you are a resident of the Basque Country and meet the requirements, apply for the discount based on public pricing (Deusto-Basque Government agreement) for large families and members of other groups at the University’s General Secretariat.

Re-enrolment (subsequent years):

  • Academic requirements:
    • Have achieved an average grade of 7 or higher in the most recently completed course of your studies.
    • Have passed at least 9 modules for a single degree or 11 modules for a double degree in the combined results of the first two assessments of those subjects (unless otherwise specified by UD regulations). All subjects must have been passed in at least 3 assessment attempts.
  • Financial requirements:
    • Regarding financial requirements, it will be necessary to provide evidence of receiving or continuing to receive the Guaranteed Income (RGI) or, alternatively, to submit the income tax return. If your income does not exceed the minimum interprofessional wage, you will continue to receive the grant under the same conditions as the previous year. Once the income threshold corresponding to the Guaranteed Income (RGI) or assets has been exceeded, the applicable grant percentage will be determined according to the new income threshold within the Deusto Grants Programme, increased by 30%.
