This year 2024, the University of Deusto celebrates the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO Chair in Human Resources, a program that began in 1994 when Jesús Mª Eguiluz Ortuzar, Rector of the University of Deusto, and Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Director General of UNESCO, signed the agreement establishing the Chair.
Throughout these three decades, the Chair has awarded scholarships, organized conferences, published books and journals, given training courses in Deusto and partner universities, among other activities. partner universities, among other activities. To celebrate this anniversary, the University of Deusto organized on November 7 a hybrid event that focused on listening to the testimonies of both the current Vice Chancellor of Research and International Relations, Javier Arellano, as well as the people who have served as the Chair's directors, being the protagonists of the session alumni and current scholarship holders.
The anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the future of the UNESCO Chair, as well as to strengthen the Chair's Alumni Network by connecting current and former scholarship recipients with each other.
