Fernando de la Iglesia Viguiristi s.j., new Vice-Rector of the San Sebastian campus, University of Deusto

The Board of Governors at the University of Deusto has appointed Fernando de la Iglesia Viguiristi S.J. as Vice-Rector of the San Sebastian Campus, replacing José María Guibert. He formally took up his new position last 19 September. The academic ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Jesús María Eguíluz, and the Rector, Jaime Oraá. Fernando de la Iglesia Viguiristi (Pamplona, 1954) holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from ESTE faculty, University of Deusto (1976); a BA in Moral Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1987). He also holds an MA (1991) and a PhD in Economic Theory from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.(1993). He has been chairman of the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools (IAJBS), Member of UD?s Research Board, of UD?s Ethics Seminars and Director of ESTE?s PhD Programme.

He is currently Director of the Department of Economics at ESTE, Director of the Journal of Business Studies, Coordinator of Functional Areas and Services at the San Sebastian Campus, and member of the Board of Directors of Reason and Faith.He is a lecturer at the University of Deusto, where he teaches Macroeconomics I, Macroeconomics II and International Economic Theory at ESTE.He has been a Jesuit since 1976.
