The University of Deusto, within the BBKSasoiko program, has given a workshop in which a total of 50 elderly people have been trained in Artificial Intelligence tools by students of Engineering and Education degrees. This project has just been incorporated into the bank of good practices of the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque, because it is not only an innovative practice in its understanding of active aging, but for being a pioneer in its way of articulating the training giving value to intergenerational exchange.

This initiative arose from the connection that was already taking place between Deusto and BBK for the innovative promotion of the social participation of people as they age. In addition, it has its origin in the concern of the academic institution to avoid, with the irruption of AI, the creation of a new digital divide between the group of older adults and the rest of society.
