The Accessible Heritage Experience for Audience Development – AHEAD project, led by Macarena Cuenca and Jaime Cuenca in Deusto, has obtained the Deusto Research Social Impact 2025 label. The project, in the framework of the Creative Europe programme, aims to increase the understanding that applying human-centred approaches, learning by doing, impact and data-driven methodologies in the cultural heritage sector helps to innovate the working practices and empower the sector to become more relevant for our communities, more financially sustainable and able to create opportunities for social, cultural and economic growth.
This award recognises and rewards research excellence with a social impact, as “focusing on the generation and transfer of knowledge” and “promoting our existing networks and their social impact” are some of the main priorities for the university. The promotion of the social impact of research seeks to respond to the mission of our university to contribute to a better understanding of the major challenges both society and the planet face nowadays.
