The Council of Europe awards the Global Campus of Human Rights, of which Deusto is a member, for its contribution in the human rights field in higher education..

The Council of Europe has awarded its prestigious North-South Prize to the Global Campus of Human Rights, an academic institution of which Deusto has been a member since its inception in 1997.  The award acknowledges its outstanding work in the field of human rights in higher education and its commitment to dialogue between the human rights communities of the Global North and the Global South.

The Global Campus of Human Rights coordinates eight Master’s Degrees in Human Rights and Democratisation in Sarajevo, Buenos Aires, Pretoria, Bangkok, Venice, Yerevan or Bishkek. The Pedro Arrupe Human Rights Institute at the University of Deusto actively collaborates with the European Master’s in Human Rights and Democratisation offered in Venice. The Prize will be awarded at a ceremony held in the Portuguese Parliament in mid-2024.
