This book aims to celebrate and remember the half-century of the first university centre in San Sebastian and the historical territory of Guipuzcoa. It is a history book, strictly speaking, as it seeks to comprehend and explain the main aspects of the past of this institution so that its present can be understood. And it does so by focusing on its most significant signs of identity, which give rise to its origin, on its location in the city of San Sebastian and the building that gives it its name, and on the particular architectural structure that houses it, the university students that liven it up, and the university project on which it is based.
