Deusto Business School, the business school of the University of Deusto, has received a significant endorsement from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for its two Executive MBA programmes (both in-person and online) by achieving reaccreditation for a period of five years, the maximum granted by the organisation.
AMBA is one of the leading global authorities in postgraduate business education accreditation. Deusto Business School first received this accreditation in 2021, the same year it also earned the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation.
Only six Spanish institutions hold two international accreditations, positioning Deusto Business School among the top 2% of business schools worldwide.
A community of 68,000 students
The reaccreditation granted by AMBA means that both current students and alumni of the Executive MBA at Deusto can continue to enjoy the benefits of being part of the top MBA alumni network, a global community of 68,000 students and alumni from over 150 countries with whom they can expand their relationships and international contacts.
AMBA's accreditation team has recognised the transformative experience of the Executive MBA at Deusto, both in its in-person and online versions. They have also positively assessed the programme's commitment to innovation, the quality of its faculty, and its focus on creating a positive impact in the business community through entrepreneurship projects and knowledge transfer initiatives carried out by its participants.
According to Álvaro de la Rica Aspiunza, Dean of Deusto Business School, the renewed AMBA accreditation of the Executive MBA programme acknowledges Deusto's commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and generating a positive impact through the Executive MBA programme. "We are extremely proud to be recognised once again by AMBA for the maximum term of five years, which allows us to remain within its exclusive international community."
In fact, obtaining and maintaining these international accreditations requires undergoing a rigorous review process conducted by international peer experts from other business schools, a process that can take several years.
The Dean of Deusto Business School further added that the double accreditation the school has earned, AMBA and AACSB, signifies progress on its path towards international excellence.
According to Andrew Main Wilson, CEO of The Association of MBA (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA): “I am delighted that Deusto Business School has received this re-accreditation from AMBA. The panel were impressed by the enthusiasm of the school’s leadership team – which has clearly lead to a quality experience for students. I look forward to working with this school going forward.”
Furthermore, Deusto Business School's strategic plan includes adding the EQUIS accreditation to its existing AMBA and AACSB accreditations, which would lead to the prestigious Triple Crown recognition.
At the end of 2024, Deusto Business School also secured the renewal of its institutional accreditation from Unibasq, the quality agency of the Basque University System, with the accreditation granted until 2030.
