Both business schools are committed to boosting innovation and entrepreneurship through training. Participants on these programmes will learn about cutting-edge initiatives implemented by big corporations from the executives who have led them.
“Entrepreneur” has become a magic word for people in public administration. The Public Leadership in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, taught by the University of Deusto and Comillas Pontifical University ICAI-ICADE, through Deusto Business School and ICADE Business School, with the support of the Rafael de Pino Business Leaders Circle, will give participants knowledge about how to use the administration to help entrepreneurs to create jobs without endangering the system's sustainability. All the programme participants hold high public positions.
The most successful public programmes from the European Union, the USA and Israel will be examined during the class sessions. Furthermore, politicians enrolled in the programme will do a real project to support entrepreneurs, with measurement of returns. These projects will later be applied in their respective administrations.
The Corporate Leadership Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation targets executives and professionals from the world of business innovation and is sponsored by Steelcase. This programme shares some of the objectives envisaged in the former programme such as certain sessions, business lunches, workshops and technical visits, thus allowing public administration officials and students on the programme to exchange management experiences.
Luc Theis, Director General of Deusto Business School, believes that the agreement between the two business schools will make it possible to boost entrepreneurial training as a key to innovation, which is one of the models for the new economy. Theis also stated that big companies across the world are offering an increasing number of corporative entrepreneurship programmes and open innovation mechanisms such as nurseries, business accelerators and even investment platforms as corporate venture capital.
Marta Muñiz, Director of ICADE Business School pointed out that collaboration between the two schools enables them to "combine their efforts and talent, as they share the same values and view innovation and entrepreneurship as drivers of economic and social progress. The objective is to create the ecosystem needed to promote entrepreneurship and social change in our country”.
