Scope and status
A visiting student is any foreign or Spanish university student who wishes to extend their studies temporarily by taking some subjects belonging to the curricula of any centre at the University of Deusto. Students must provide proof of having been admitted or enrolled in a Spanish or foreign university.
The status of visiting students will be governed by the provisions of these regulations, unless there is an Agreement signed by the University of Deusto and their home universities, in which case the provisions laid down in said Agreement will be preferably applied. These students are entitled to attend class and sit the exams, etc. for the subjects in which they are enrolled. Students staying at the University for less than one year will not be allowed to sit exams for year-long subjects. Students staying at the University for less than one semester will not be allowed to sit exams for semester-long subjects.
Admission procedure
Visiting students must submit their application for admission to the General Secretariat within the usual application deadlines.
Application form
The following supporting documents must be submitted:
- Identity document.
- Proof of being or having been enrolled in another Spanish or foreign university.
- Application requesting enrolment for the subjects the student wishes to study.
Enrolment
Admitted students must enrol according to the instructions given to them, and must also provide proof of having taken out an accident and medical insurance policy, in cases not covered by the legislation on School Insurance.
Students may not enrol for more than 60 ECTS of the European Credit Transfer System.
Academic recognition
Students completing courses through this system will not be awarded a University of Deusto degree certificate. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Achievement stating the credits earned and the mark obtained, if they have sat the exam or tests for each course they enrolled in. Students may request that the General Secretariat forward the certificate showing the courses completed and corresponding marks to their university of origin.
