WHY H2020 project, financed by the European Commission and coordinated by the University of Deusto, organised its first Open Day in the framework of the EU Green Week 2021 on the 11th of June. It was an opportunity to engage with all stakeholders and interested citizens on how we can work together to make the ambition for a zero pollution and toxic-free environment a reality.
The first WHY Open Day invited stakeholders and policy makers to discuss energy system models that allow us to test and select better strategies for fighting pollution caused by the energy sector. Experts and academics shared ideas and insights to the importance of including behavioral aspects in climate policy.
The open day explored what Energy System Models can do to help in reducing the pollution through the example of 5 use cases and will unveil what stakeholders around Europe say about different behaviours using electricity at home and why do people invest in the energy transition.
