Ph.D. in Communication. She is director of the postgraduate program “Data analysis, research, and communication” and lecturer and researcher in the Communication team, recognized by the Basque Government with the highest category (A) at the University of Deusto. She lectures on media, communication, international relations, and data. She has obtained a six-year research certification from the national committee for the assessment of the research action. She is also an Associate researcher at Overseas Development Institute, London; Datactive, University of Amsterdam, and MediaData, Polytechnic University of Valencia. The central theme of her research has to do with data activism or how people and organizations use data infrastructure, in combination with other technologies, for social change and equality. She is also the author of the book Data Activism and Social Change, Palgrave-Macmillan. She has published twelve articles in high-impact, indexed journals, fourteen chapters and books, eight peer-reviewed technical reports, and dozens of articles in news media, and has attended and offered key-note speeches at more than thirty conferences. Her publications have gathered 1,330 citations since 2015 (and 1,783 in total); h-index 19 and i10-index 36.
